Creativity awakes

February was a good month for me. The same as March (despite that I’m kind of locked at home most of the time).
It was a time full of challenges, self-improvement and keeping in touch with others. The last I’ve mentioned before made me feel anxious recently. I found it hard (actually I still find it hard) to participate in social life. I don’t have a lot of people close to me. I’m rather secretive and I’m trying not to talk about my private life. It’s probably the reason, why I don’t have real friends at all.
To be honest, for my whole life I’ve heard that I’ll never find friends with my rough nature. I’m pushing people away all the time, so if I want to make friends I HAVE TO change myself, my approach and attitude to life. That sounds awful, but I can’t find even one single moment in my whole childhood, where I felt fully accepted. Always there was something wrong with me…
It’s probably one of the reasons why I’ve become withdrawn in my adult life. When I was a kid I’ve learned how to live alone and to make myself happy (or semi-happy). If people don’t know you and your private life, they can’t accept or not accept you. They also can’t use your weakness for their fun…
I’m not sure if I’ll ever be able to trust people like I used to do, maybe one day I’ll learn how to ignore unpleasant words and immature behavior. I would like to reach the Zen state… I believe it allows me to find elements, which make me strong when the whole life is ruining down on me.
I’m learning. People are learning for the whole life, even if they can’t perceive it.
I’m learning what it’s like to be resourceful, regular and sociable… I’m getting to know what ‘sense of acceptance’ means. People are kind and nice to me - just like that, without any special reason - that’s so new for me!
I’m trying to remind myself how to be organized again. A few years ago I’ve felt strong and versed in time scheduling, but it’s really easy to forget these skills while not using them.

So… what can I say after the first full month at the new job?
I’m surprised how fast this time has passed. I still feel like it would be my first week there. I have a feeling like I would be that new girl all the time. But don’t associate it with negative emotions - consider it oppositely.
Everyone is helpful and amiable. They’re smiling to me and patiently explaining things. I’m not even saying about my responsibilities; it’s the same with for example localizing the vacuum cleaner.
I have a really nice team, I can develop myself all the time. I’m learning new things and getting new skills - from the scope of the project and tools.

Fine, I still need to get used to the new rhythm. At the moment I don’t have that much time for handicrafts and walks like before. But I think I’ll be able to catch them up soon.

For now, I can show you the letters I’ve written in February and March. I can also share with you my bullet journal for the following month (soon I’ll be making April cards).
Well, replying to the letter takes me more than before, but it’s fine. I’m not going to push myself to write immediately, but I’m also not going to give up at all.

I’ve also started my YouTube channel, where I’m going to upload some time lapses from the creating process. The whole channel is about scrapbooking - making envelopes, cards, bujo, etc. If you would like to take a look, this is the link: Scrapbooking by Alex.

I’ve also finally made soy candles. Actually, I’ve made them with my husband - we had a lot of fun while creating them together. It was our first attempt, so please, be tolerant and understanding ;)
We’ve been testing essential oils and dyes. Some of the scents are really nice, some of them are too strong for me. Colors - some of them have perfect hue, others are not well matched.
But I’ll definitely make more candles soon. These I’ve already made will be sold on the charity markets (I’ve left 2 at home).

My bracelets' Art Spirit is still close to me! I’ve made amazing one with the welo opal beads (I’ve fallen in love with this gem!) I’ve also bought raw welo opal to make a simple bracelet, but I’m waiting for the diamond drills delivery.

I’ve also ordered more gem beads - I’ve made more bracelets and pendants and I’m still going to make more.

I’ve recently made another order from a small Hungarian craft store called Stampp. I’ve changed the chain for strings. I’ve also made a different design for all I’ve ever bought from this store.
New bracelets have smaller and thinner badges than the old ones. Well, I prefer the old design, but anyway I really like bracelets made in this small factory.
In the picture below you can easily see the difference between new (leaf and tree) and old ones (cat and planet).

Ordering jewelry… I’ve also bought a handmade cooper lunula and the same design earrings. Slavic themed jewelry is made by talented Polish girl - Ania.

Some time ago I realized I want to be more eco-friendly (don’t confuse with the eco-terrorist). I’m planning to change the stuff I use for reusable and ecological. Of course, I’m only talking about things I use (not my whole family - they’re making their own choice).
So, first of all, I’ve bought reusable cotton makeup removers and cat-gloves for washing face. They’re also handmade by The Miss Cat.

I’ve also decided to test eco-friendly sanitary pads and tampons.
Although they’re disposable, they’re made with ecological materials. To be honest - I can’t convince myself for using reusable sanitary, the same as I couldn’t use reusable diapers for Maja… I’ve decided to buy sanitary from Your Kaya this time.
Tampons are totally not made for me - I’m going to find something more comfortable and easier to apply. I can’t say, that the quality is low, it’s just ok (nothing special).
Sanitary pads, on the other hand, are comfy, soft and properly absorbent. The only disadvantage is that they’re falling off from panties too fast.
For now, I’m not sure if I’ll order any stuff from this store again, but I’m not excluding this option either.
In the nearest future, I would like to also try a shampoo bar. I’ve heard a lot of positive opinions about them. I haven’t done any specific research yet, I would like to buy it from some small polish manufacture. If you know anyone who makes good quality shampoo bar feel free to share the site in the comment :) I’ll willingly check out the assortment.

We’re slowly making our holiday plans for 2020.
We’re going to go to two metal festivals in the Czech Republic. We’ve already bought the tickets.
For the first one - Metalfest Open Air - we’re going with Maja. The next one - Masters of Rock - is only for me and A.
We still haven’t specified road trip plans, but we initially considered going somewhere close to the Mediterranean Sea with Maja. Spontaneous trips are the best, so we’ll see what happens to this time.
We also haven’t made plans for the trip without our daughter, but there are some ideas.

I have no idea how epidemiological situation will develop until then; it’s still a lot of time till June. It’s hard to say what’s going to happen next, that’s why it makes no sense to plan anything. We’ve bought the tickets for both events before China has expanded the virus.
Huh, I’m a bit tired of coronavirus issue. Everyone is totally scared, panicked; people are maniacally buying up all stuff from the stores… Others are afraid to go out from home and they’re disinfecting every millimeter of their body after seeing a person who stands 1 km from them…
Reasonable prevention is the key to not to propagate illness, but making a mountain out of a molehill is a manifestation of cretinism.

What else is here?
Well, I’ve led workshops with my friend from the sanctuary. We’ve been teaching people how to make toys and feed limiters for cats using ‘rubbish’ only (rubbish - I mean things which we usually trash - like cardboard toilet paper rolls, cardboard boxes, inserts for eggs, non-sticky packing tapes and forest twigs). We had a lot of fun, people were very creative, they’ve tried to make things on their own (we had some samples, we were pretty sure people will use them to copy).
To sum up - people were so enjoyed that asked us to prepare something similar again! :)

Something more about self-development in the charity sector - I’ve recently taken Bona (our cat lady) to her new home! Of course, our manager has been talking with the future meowmy before, everything was checked, etc. But anyway - I could bring her there and I had to explain Bona’s human everything :) I know Bona very well, she’s been living in the sanctuary for few months; I know things she likes and dislikes, etc.
So, the girl was really happy about a new family member, I could easily see how excited she was :) And to be honest - I was excited too!
Bona is my almost-neighbor, she lives quite close to me right now :) I’m sure she’ll be happy with this positive girl.
This year I’m going to join the adoption team. I’ll be checking potential new homes if they’re ready to adopt a new family member if they’re responsible and willing to learn new things.

My beloved cats are doing quite well.
The last urine tests went ok. Amaya has some crystals, but at once she doesn’t have problems with peeing, nothing has changed in her behavior, she loves to play and she willingly eats. We’re watching her all the time, to be able to start treatment if it’s needed.

Misio’s blood test still shows hyperthyroidism. We had to increase the amount of medicine he gets and we’ll see if anything changes after the next month.

I’ve also had first appointments at a feline dietician with Purka. We’re trying to help Purka lose some weight. Agnieszka is making BARF recipes for us. Despite the diet, we got more instructions to follow; one of them is to play regularly.
I was pretty sure we won’t make it. Purka usually avoids sports. Can you believe, that after a few days she’s started to play again?
I’m not sure what was the reason, probably the time - in the past we were mostly playing in the morning or during the day (I was working remotely); now when I’ve changed a job we started to play in the evenings. Purka seems to be more open and inquisitive. She wants to jump, chase and bite feathers! Sometimes she hides them under the pillow. She looks so cute while playing - these huge black eyes tracking the bait. And what’s important - we’ve lengthened playing time from ~10 to ~40 minutes. Purka regulates it.

What I wanted to write about at almost the end is what I’ve recently bought to celebrate my new job.
I’ve dreamed about clothes below for a few months. I’ve accidentally found Toonzshop while exploring some Pinterest ideas for a coat.
I love these clothes, they’re soft and high quality. In the pictures, they look thicker, but anyway, I think they’re worth their price. For sure I’ll order something again in the future.

I’ve also bought a charming handmade backpack. The fabric is totally awesome - cats and the universe! And it’s waterproof! I’ve ordered it from small Polish manufacture Rykkjo. Handmade is better!

I’ve also decided to test another antiallergic gel nail polish. This time I’ve bought Kabos Gelike products. Considering the fact, that the last antiallergic nail polish has sensitized me after 2-3 weeks - I’ll wait with announcing success ;) But I really hope, I won’t be forced to look for another antiallergic brand.
For now - there is nothing wrong with my skin and nails, but everything can happen.
The quality is good, they’re as durable as the regular ones. For now, I only have a starter pack - base, top, and 2 colors. The color intensity I can rate 7/10. There is less pigment for the same volume - if you compare Kabos Gelike to the regular gel nail polish. The red one becomes opaque after using 2 layers. The dark gray is also opaque after 2 layers, but it looks much better after using 3.
If my body accepts these nail polish, I’ll definitely order more colors. Then I’ll be able to say something more about them ;)
Maybe they’re not perfect, but I like them anyway. I love to have long and colorful nails, but I can’t even imagine returning to classical long drying ones. They’re very fragile and they have a terrible smell. So I prefer not to use any nail polish than returning to classical ones.
So keep your fingers crossed for me! ;)

In the end, I wanted to share with you more cat, nature and plant photos. I’ve recently made a lot of them.

P.S. I just wanted to add an important note - my post is not sponsored by anyone. I’ve mentioned about products I’ve recently tried because in my opinion, they’re worth it ;)
I’ve truly shared all the advantages and disadvantages of them. So if you’re not sure about the note credibility - I want you to know that nobody pays me. I’m not planning to cooperate with any brand. I want my blog to be my own space, not susceptible to any influence.
I’m not judging people willing to test some products in exchange for some profit, it’s just not a good option for me - that’s all :)

  1. It's a wonderful post! I'm glad things are going well at the job and that you enjoy your colleagues and that the feeling is mutual. I really do think that when you like the people you work with, the work is much better. But I am amazed that you have been able to do all you are doing outside with the new job! That's pretty terrific. The jewelry is beautiful and I've always loved your letters. I'll have to remember to check out the videos. Of course, you know I always love seeing your cats! The photos are wonderful -- you should add making a cat calendar to your ventures, using your photos! Thanks for your visits to Marmelade Gypsy. It's always good to see you.
